| Staggered Scheduling Passes with the School Board |
During the 2009-2010 school year, Putnam County Schools will be piloting a new, staggered starting schedule for school days. Middle and high schools in the county will begin classes at 7:45 and dismiss at 2:45, while elementary schools will begin at 8:30 and dismiss at 3:30. | School Report Card Released |
According to the Tennessee Department of Education's (TDOE) website, "The Tennessee Education Improvement Act of 1992 established accountability standards for all public schools in the state and required the Department of Education to produce a Report Card for the public to assess each year." Just as students receive report cards to show their academic progress, schools in Tennessee receive report cards, as well.
The TDOE has just released school and county report cards for the 2007-2008 school year, and we are pleased to announce that Algood School received straight A's on our state report card in student achievement!
