IMPORTANT NEW PICK UP INFORMATION - BEGINNING JANUARY 23

Parents,

We continue to have problems in the parking lot between the school and the football field each afternoon during parent pick-up time. We have asked that parents not instruct their kids to come to the parking lot for pick-up in the afternoon but we continue to have students running across the traffic and traffic jams caused by cars pulling in and out of the parking lot.

Due to these problems, beginning Monday, January 23 the lower entrance/exit to the parking lot will be closed from 2:45 - 3:30 each day. The only way to enter the parking lot during this time will be to come through the car line from Walton Road and enter the parking lot entrance/exit by the playground. To get out of the parking lot during this time of day, you will need to line up at that same entrance/exit and wait for the staff directing traffic to direct you out of the parking lot.

We apologize for any inconvenience but the safety of the students must come first.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES - JANUARY 30

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be Monday, January 30, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. If you would like to meet with your child's teacher, please contact the teacher to make an appointment.

IMPORTANT MEETINGS FOR EIGHTH GRADERS/PARENTS

Several important dates have been set for high school registration.
January 30 - Meet at AMS at 6:00 to discuss EXPLORE test results and high school graduation requirements
February 21 - parent orientation at CHS beginning at 6:30 p.m.
February 24 - high school counselors here to discuss registration
February 27, 28 - rising 9th grader advisement at CHS, 4:00-7:00 p.m.

TCAP WRITING ASSESSMENT - FEBRUARY 1

Students in grades 5 and 8 will take the TCAP Writing Assessment on Wednesday, February 1. To find out more about this state-mandated assessment, please click here.

NEW STUDENT HANDBOOK

DOORS LOCKED DURING THE DAY

For the safety of our students, after 8:00 A.M., all of the side doors in the school building will be locked. If you wish to visit the school, please come through the front door and sign in at the office. The front door is the door visible in the photo at the top of this page. A visitor parking lot is available near the front door.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Redskins run away from Yellow Jackets

ALGOOD -- For the second time in five days, the Algood football team displayed a powerful running game on its way to an impressive victory. The Redskins ran 27 times for 361 yards to knock off cross-county rival Cornerstone 36-0 on Monday night. Read more.
